A General Method of Solution
The two expressions can both be squared and added together. Notice that \( \cos^2(\theta) + \sin^2(\theta) =1 \), the following is arrived at:
\[ W^2 = (C_L^2 + C_D^2) \times (\frac{1}{2} \rho V^2 S) ^2 \]
