\[ mgH_1 + \frac{1}{2} m V_1^2 = mgH_2 + \frac{1}{2} m V_2^2\]
Rearranging the above equation, we cancel the mass terms and obtain the following relationship:
\[ V_2^2 - V_1^2 = 2g \times (H_1-H_2) \]
Note that the sign conventions are correct: \(V_2>V_1\) while \(H_1>H_2\).
