Each year solo pilots can represent their college in the college gliding competition by completing a Varsity style flight, and submitting their flights [[GPS trace]] to the [http://www.bgaladdercommittee.co.uk/uniladder.asp BGA Ladder], colleges Colleges can enter as many pilots as they wish and pilots can submit as many flights as they wish, but only the highest scoring flight from each college is taken. For pilots The pilot who do achieves the highest scoring flight will win the [[Trophies#The Slazenger Trophy|Slazenger trophy]]. The full rules are outlined on the [[Varsity]] page. It is a 50 minute flight where the aim is to get the highest cumulative height gain. Be careful not yet have their cross country endorsement you can still do the to go over 50 minutes as there is a heavy penalty for exceeding time! A [[CUGC Micro-tasksGPS trace]] and submit them file (.igc) must be submitted to the committee for scoring.
